Covenant to Bury Past Grievances and Injustices
View Details
Two individuals – a father and son; a mother and daughter; a husband and wife – belonging to a family that has long been embroiled in conflict and mutual abuse wish to step back and heal their relationship - even while nothing and no one else around them evinces any sign of ceasing rancor and abuse.
Each day, the walls of the house echo of years and years of recycled indictments and aspersions alike.
The family can’t afford to live in separate residences. They can’t afford more amenities that may do away with the trouble of sharing. The social welfare institutions of the country aren’t even nearly adequate to offer any helpful intervention.
However, they don’t actually require any of these provisions.
As what everyone who has known the depths of human suffering and made their way out will tell you: when two people love each other and wish to heal, they will do so even at the edge of an abyss.
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” (Viktor Frankl)
All they need is a pen, a piece of paper, and the guidance to chart ‘their own way.’
